چکیده

To define the number, type, and criteria for interpretation of elecfrocardiographic leads yielding the most reliable results during and after exercise, 203 men were studied. Twelve-lead exercise electrocardiograms (including lead CM5) and coronary arteriograms were correlated. Depression of the S-T segment that was present only during exercise was of doubtful significance. Analysis of ECGs after exercise revealed that only leads v5, v6, and CM5 had acceptable sensitivity (61, 53, and 60 percent, respectively). Analysis with multiple leads increased the sensitivity of exercise tests to 65 percent. Lead V5 correctly identified 39 percent (17) of the 44 patients with single-vessel disease and 74 percent (49/66) of those with multiple-vessel disease. The predictive values of interpretations based on lead V5 and multiple leads were not significantly different (84 percent [67/801

Reliability of Holter registration in ischemic heart disease

Introduction We studied the reliability of a new ST-segment analysis on a 24-hour 12-lead holter recording comparing ST-depression during exercise testing with active molsidomine and placebo drugs in a randomized, double-blind, crossover, clinical trial. Methods and results 35 patients with proven coronary heart disease received either 4 mg regular molsidomine, 8 mg molsidomine SR (Sustained Re...

The effect of one and two sessions endurance and resistance exercise training per day on serum levels of IgA and cortisol in soccer players

Background and aims: Exercise can have a mutual effect on immune system function. Immunoglobulin levels fluctuate greatly during periods of stress, which are associated with elevated cortisol levels. The aim of current study was to investigate the effect of one and two bouts of selected training per day on IgA and cortisol serum levels in soccer players. Methods: Sixteen nonprofessional ...

Right oblique transthoracic electrocardiogram.

In clinical electrocardiography many attempts have been made to achieve a higher degree of accuracy in the interpretation. One controversial subject is whether unipolar chest leads are more useful than Latterly he tested a transthoracic lead with the indifferent electrode placed in the 4th intercostal space at the right sternal border (station 1) and the exploring electrode placed in the left p...

Toward the optimal lead system and optimal criteria for exercise electrocardiography.

To define the optimal lead system for exercise electrocardiography, data of the whole body surface potential distribution were analyzed in 25 normal subjects and in 25 patients with coronary artery disease at rest and during exercise. All patients had a normal electrocardiogram at rest. The sensitivity of the standard chest leads was 60 percent; it improved to 84 percent with the body surface m...
